Chief Mario Partida

Chief Partida is a veteran of the Fire Service serving the City of Missouri City with over 30 years of fire service experience. A native of Texas, Chief Partida joined the Missouri City Fire & Rescue Services Department in March of 2019. He has over 30 years of experience and began his career in 1991 as a Firefighter with the City of Sugar Land. He held positions as Firefighter/EMT, Engineer/Operator, Lieutenant, Battalion Chief and Assistant Fire Chief. Chief Partida retired in 2019 and began serving the citizens of Missouri City as Assistant Fire Chief of Operations. 

In 2021, Chief Partida was appointed as Fire Chief.  He currently leads 78 members and is a careful steward of the citizen’s tax dollars with an operating budget of over $9 million dollars. Chief Partida holds state certifications as a Master Firefighter, Aircraft Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Technician, Officer IV and Instructor II, is a graduate of the Texas Chief’s Academy at St. Edward’s University and the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer Program through TEEX at Texas A&M University Mays Business School, and received formal education in Fire Protection Technology and Fire Administration at Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama.

The Fire Chief is responsible for four key areas of service for the city:

  • Fire and EMS Operations Response
  • City Emergency Management and the Emergency Operations Center
  • Training and Professional Development
  • Prevention and Community Risk Reduction

Message from the Fire Chief

“I strive to provide exceptional internal and external customer service and honored to lead an incredible team of professionals.  My priorities include streamlining internal processes, constant analyzation of responsible budget goals and expenditures, implementing the recently adopted Civil Service model, enhancing diverse and local recruiting efforts, increasing support in our Fire Marshal’s Office to meet the demand of community growth, and engaging more citizens through our neighborhood fire stations. Our prevention efforts will include robust community partnerships with our HOAs, Community Leaders and local businesses. I enjoy being out in the community and take every opportunity to interact with our citizens. My daily priority is to keep our firefighters safe and provide them the resources to serve the citizens of Missouri City and those visiting our city.”
