We're hiding golden birdies around the outside of the Rec & Tennis Center throughout the month of January. Those who find the golden birdie will receive a starter badminton kit and free day passes for them and a friend to try out our newest program.

Fish for rainbows, find the gold! Go fishing at American Legion Park for rainbow trout & the rare golden yellow trout anytime from January 1-Febraury 28. If you catch your daily limit (5 trout) or a yellow trout, take a picture and send to firstname.lastname@example.org for a chance to win a prize!
Did you know the golden-yellow trout is a Palomino or albino trout? These are the result of a rainbow trout cross-breeding with the West Virginia Golden Trout & can be found in our parks!
Additional park fishing rules:
Kids 16 and under fish for free, adults must purchase afishing license
No minimum length limits. Trotlines, jug lines, fish traps, seines, cast nets, bows and spears are not allowed.

Whether your child is interested in competitions or has never played tennis before, Missouri City offers a variety of programs throughout the spring to develop your child’s skills and encourage a love for tennis while having fun. This class is taught by professional painter, Heather Roy and is held in 5 week sessions. This session will take place every Tuesday OR Thursday from January 5-February 2. The Parks Board meets on a regular basis on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The Board consists of 13 members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board serves in an advisory capacity to City Council on parks and recreation policy matters. Missouri City residence is required to be a member.

Take aim at Missouri City's Archery Program! The Beginner Archery class teaches archers (ages 8-18) safety, equipment, shooting form, and shooting etiquette!
The Explore Archery class expands upon the skills learned in the Beginner Archery program and participants will focus on improving accuracy and consistency through a variety of activities and games.
